Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is supporting the development of the fiction series NOT MY CIRCUS, created and written by Ksenia Gapchenko. The series follows Berlin teenager Kuba, who is questioning his gender identity while navigating the expectations of his loving father, older family members, and society as a whole.

FITNESS UND VERZWEIFLUNG receives production support in Berlin
The first feature project FITNESS UND VERZWEIFLUNG (WT) by Moritz Geiser has received Leuchtstoffe funding. This contemporary story about love and politics in today’s Berlin is a co-production between Voices Films and the DFFB, supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and RBB. Filming is scheduled to take place in Berlin in February and March 2025.
Filming of ARCHITECTURES OF MEMORY in the USA
Filming of the documentary project ARCHITECTURES OF MEMORY (director: Lina Zacher, DoP: Anastasia Gavrilova) continues in North Carolina and New York, USA. The project, exploring the topic of solitary confinement in prisons, is a co-production between Voices Films and Filmuniversität Babelsberg and is part of the DIGI.TALe program, funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
German Short Film Award nomination for BULL’S HEART
Margarita Bagdasaryan’s short film BULL’S HEART, co-produced by Voices Films, is nominated for the German Short Film Award 2024. The announcement of the winners takes place on November 21st in Hamburg.

The shooting of THE ORIGIN OF THE WORLD in France and Germany
The camera is rolling again for our international co-production THE ORIGIN OF THE WORLD. In total we have planned six shooting days split among Paris, Bordeaux and Berlin (11.03. – 20.03.2024). After which we will be back in the editing room for finalising our rough cut.

TIMEKEEPER premiers at Rome Independent Film Festival
The documentary essay TIMEKEEPER by Kristina Paustian will celebrate its long-awaited premiere at the Rome Independent Film Festival on November 23rd, 2023. The film is the director’s tribute to the futurist poet and mathematician Velimir Khlebnikov who lived in the early 20th century Russia and was working on the concept of the world without wars.
